Welcome

Welcome to the Notts Peer to Peer Network Website

If this is your first visit to the website, or you are a regular visitor we extend a warm welcome to you. You have a useful resource tool here, which will enable you to find the information you or someone you know may need. Please take time to find your way around the site. It has been designed to make it as easy as possible to navigate around the pages and there are helpful guides, and YouTube videos, to help

Notts Peer To Peer Network's YouTube Channel: http://goo.gl/yfqvm

There are forums for sharing views and giving opinions on what matters, to people living with mental health issues, in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. You can create topics of discussion yourself, for others to join in, or you can reply to other peoples comments. There are polls to vote in, or you can suggest one yourself for others to vote on. It is an opportunity to have your voice heard

Carers, doctors, nurses, clergy, social workers and others can use this resource to find information for people they are supporting, or for yourselves. The information is being updated on a regular basis, especially for local services, but also keeping an eye on what is happening nationally and internationally. Links are regularly checked

There are links to many support and information websites. With links to websites ranging from help for self-harmers and people with financial problems, medication information, and training courses for people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, to leisure activities and the creative arts

There is a NP2PN e-Newsletter. This contains many topics and items that are not available on the website

There has been an increasing awareness and expansion of the Recovery model in Nottinghamshire. It follows on it's growth around the world, especially in the USA, New Zealand and in our neighbouring country, Scotland. More about this model or philosophy, and how it has been rolled out in Notts, can be found on the Recovery page on the Notts Peer To Peer Network (NP2PN). Please take time to have a look

A visit to the Chill Out page may help you to find something to help you relax or just 'be'. Or you may be looking for somewhere to go

The Gateway Drop In

The Gateway

The Gateway, Nottingham

The Gateway drop in centre, part of a network of information and sharing

For the benefit of all people living with a mental health issue to meet and share. Come along to the centre to relax

Being labeled with having a mental illness can be stigmatising. We are current and ex-service users, who meet once a week on a Wednesday and have empathy for each other

We are aware of issues that people living with mental health problems have to cope with, such as relapses, struggles in developing a more positive outlook, recognising and finding ways to tackle the triggers that may lead to a downward spiral in our mental wellbeing

People who are recovering from mental health problems often find themselves isolated and unsupported. Sharing experiences with each other, if you wish, may provide valuable support. There is no pressure to do this and everything is voluntary and self-directed

We are 'experts by experience', as some label us, in the recovery process

Someone will always be there to welcome you

Carers are welcome too

Day: There is one session per week, on a Wednesday:

Time: 1.30pm until 3.30pm

Venue:

St James's Room, at St Peter's Church, St Peter's Gate, Nottingham NG1 2NW

Map: Click the gold button to find The Gateway Drop In Centre:

The entrance is at the side of St Peter's, on St Peter's Gate, with disabled access
